SMS Terms
Effective October 27, 2026
These terms cover text messages (SMS) sent by SpareCall, a service of SpareCall LLC, Littleton, Colorado. They are part of our Terms of Service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle mobile information.
1. Program: SpareCall owner alerts
SpareCall is an AI receptionist that answers the calls a local service business misses. If you are a SpareCall business owner and you opt in, we text the mobile number you give us:
- a summary after each missed call that SpareCall answers (caller name, number, what they need, urgency);
- urgent call alerts;
- account notices (setup, trial and billing reminders, service problems);
- one-time sign-in codes for your dashboard, and replies to text commands you send us.
These are transactional messages about your account. We never send marketing texts.
2. How you opt in
At sparecall.com/signup you enter your mobile number and can tick a separate box, unchecked by default, that reads: “Text me missed-call summaries, urgent call alerts and account notices from SpareCall at the mobile number above. Message frequency varies with your call volume. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out. Consent is not a condition of purchase. See SMS Terms and Privacy Policy.” We record the time, the wording and the IP address of your opt-in. Consent to texts is not a condition of purchase: without it, we send your summaries by email.
3. Message frequency and cost
Message frequency varies with your call volume (typically one text per missed call that SpareCall answers, plus occasional account notices). Message and data rates may apply.
4. Opt out and help
Reply STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT) to any message to stop all texts. We send one message confirming you're unsubscribed, and nothing after that. Reply START to opt back in.
Reply HELP for help, or email hello@sparecall.com.
5. Texts to people who call a SpareCall business
If a business has text-back turned on and your call to it isn't answered, you may receive one text from that business's SpareCall number replying to your call. It names the business and says it's an automated assistant. If you reply, an automated assistant asks a few questions about your request and passes your answers to the business. If you asked for a day or time for the work (on the call or by text) and the business has time requests turned on, you may also get a few follow-up texts about that request only: that the business got your message and will call you, that it confirmed the time you asked for, or that it offered a different time (reply YES to accept). If the business doesn't respond within about two days, you get one last text with the business's phone number. These follow-ups are about your own request, never marketing. At most one such text per number per business per day, and none between 9 pm and 8 am local time. Reply STOP to stop all texts from that number, START to resume, or HELP for help. The assistant can't send anyone, give arrival times, or handle emergencies. In an emergency, call 911.
