Every missed call is a job for the next shop on Google.
Your phone rings first. We catch the ones you miss.
A real AI voice that talks to your callers. Not a voicemail transcriber.
On a roof, in a crawlspace or on another call? SpareCall's AI receptionist picks up the calls you miss, asks what's wrong, how urgent it is and where they are, and sends you a clear summary. Every call you answer is still yours.
From $79/month after a 30-day free trial. No setup fee. No contract. Online signup opens soon.

How it works
Set it up once in a few minutes. Your phone keeps ringing like it always has. SpareCall only steps in when a call goes unanswered.
Tell us about your business
Sign up and share your website. We read it to learn your services, service area and hours, then draft your receptionist's script for your approval.
Get your SpareCall number
You get your own SpareCall number. Your business number stays the same, and so does your phone.
Turn on missed-call forwarding
Dial the short code we send for your carrier (or flip the "forward when unanswered" setting on your business phone system). It takes about 2 minutes.
Missed calls get answered
SpareCall picks up, takes the caller's details, and texts and/or emails you a summary with their name, number, issue and urgency.
Talk to the demo
Hear what your callers would hear. Pretend you're a customer of Mile High Heating & Air, a made-up sample shop, whose call was missed: say your furnace or AC is acting up. You'll talk to SpareCall's AI receptionist, not a person.
- About 2 minutes, then it hangs up on its own
- At the end you'll see the summary the shop owner would get
- Nothing is sent to anyone: the shop and its owner are made up
A pretend caller with a furnace problem reaches the AI receptionist for Mile High Heating & Air, a made-up sample shop. About 1½ minutes.

AI: Hi, thanks for calling Mile High Heating and Air. I'm their AI assistant. The team can't answer the phone right now, so this call is recorded so I can pass your message to Alex. What can I help with?
Caller: Hi, yeah. So my furnace is acting up. It keeps kicking on and shutting off every couple of minutes, and it's making this loud rattling noise.
AI: Sorry to hear that. I can get this to Alex. Can I get your name, please?
Caller: It's Mark. Mark Delgado.
AI: Thanks, Mark. What's the best number for Alex to call you back on?
Caller: 303-555-0148.
AI: Got it: 303-555-0148. And what area or neighborhood are you in?
Caller: We're in Arvada, near Olde Town.
AI: Thanks. One quick question: is the house without any heat right now, and is anyone there very young, elderly, or with a medical need?
Caller: No, it's still putting out some heat. It's just me and my wife, we're fine. It's just, you know, loud.
AI: Okay, I'll note that as routine. When would you like someone to come out? Any day or time that works best?
Caller: Tomorrow morning would be great.
AI: Perfect. I'll pass this along to Alex: Mark Delgado in Arvada, furnace short cycling with a loud rattle, still some heat, callback at 303-555-0148, tomorrow morning is best. Okay, I've sent this to Alex, and they'll call or text you back. I can't promise an exact time. Is there anything else I can help with?
Caller: No, that's it. Thanks.
AI: Thanks for calling Mile High Heating and Air, Mark. Have a good night.

Sample call, made-up shop and caller. Real shops get this by text and/or email right after a missed call.
About your microphone: we only use it while the call is on. Your voice goes to our AI voice provider (xAI) to run this call, and SpareCall doesn't save the audio or a transcript of web demos. Headphones work best. This is an AI demo, not an emergency line: if anyone is in danger, call 911.
Only the calls you miss. You stay in control.
SpareCall uses your carrier's own conditional call forwarding, so your phone always rings first. Pick up and the call is yours, like always. SpareCall answers only when a call is:
Unanswered
It rings about 4 to 6 times and you can't get to it.
Declined
You tap decline because you're busy with a customer.
Busy
You're already on another call.
Off or no signal
Your phone is off, dead, or out of coverage.
Your own simple dashboard
Every shop gets an online dashboard. Sign in with a one-time code we text or email you, no password to remember.

Busy month? Nothing gets cut off and there are no overage fees. Once you reach your plan's limit, extra calls go to a simple voicemail that we text to you. We text you a heads-up as you get close and again when you reach it. Calls from your family/VIP list and screened spam calls don't count toward your limit.

Frequently asked questions
Does SpareCall answer every call?
No, only the ones you miss. Your phone rings first, every time. SpareCall picks up only when a call goes unanswered after about 4 to 6 rings, when you decline it, when you're on another call, or when your phone is off or has no signal. Every call you answer is handled by you, exactly as it is today.
What about urgent calls and emergencies?
If a caller says it's urgent, SpareCall flags it and alerts you immediately so you can call them back. Callers with a life-threatening emergency are told to hang up and call 911. SpareCall is not an emergency service: it doesn't dispatch anyone or promise response times, and you decide how and when to respond.
How does the free trial work?
You get 30 days free, and your 30-day trial starts when your line goes live (not when you sign up), so setup time doesn't eat into it. A card is required at signup, but nothing is charged during the trial. We email you a reminder about a week before it ends. If you don't cancel, billing starts automatically when the trial ends. Cancel anytime, with no contract and no setup fee.
How do I cancel?
Cancel anytime from Manage billing (Stripe emails you a secure sign-in link), or email hello@sparecall.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. If you cancel during the 30-day free trial, you're never charged.
Can I get a refund?
If you forgot to cancel, ask within 7 days of your first charge and we'll refund it in full. On a yearly plan, ask within 30 days of the yearly charge for a full refund; after that there's no refund, but your service continues to the end of the paid year. If SpareCall is down or misses calls because of a problem on our side, we credit you for that time, or refund you if it's serious; otherwise there are no partial-month refunds on monthly plans. To ask, email hello@sparecall.com; refunds go back to your original card through Stripe.
What happens to my SpareCall number if I cancel?
We hold your SpareCall number for 30 days after you cancel in case you come back, then release it. When you cancel, turn off call forwarding on your phone; we'll send you the code to do it.
Do I need new phone hardware or a new number?
No. You keep your phone and your business number. You just turn on missed-call forwarding with a short code from your carrier (or a setting on your business phone system), which takes about 2 minutes. We send you the exact code for your carrier.
How do I get the caller's details?
After each missed call, SpareCall sends you a summary by text and/or email with the caller's name, number, issue and urgency. You can also see your call log and summaries in your dashboard.
Will callers know it's an AI?
SpareCall answers in your business's name and is upfront that it's an automated assistant taking a message for your team.
Will it quote prices or book jobs?
No. SpareCall never states, estimates or confirms prices, fees, or trip or diagnostic charges, even if your website lists them. Callers who ask hear that you'll go over pricing with them. It also never books a job or promises an arrival time. It takes the message so you can call back and decide.
Are calls recorded?
Yes. SpareCall tells every caller up front that the call is recorded. Recordings are there so you can listen back from your own call details page, behind your sign-in, and they're deleted after 90 days (or sooner if you delete your account). If a caller says they don't want to be recorded, SpareCall stops recording and keeps helping.
How is this different from Jobber's receptionist or a free AI plan?
Those are good options for some shops. Jobber's Receptionist is an add-on to a Jobber subscription, and some AI answering services offer a small free tier. SpareCall is built for one job: catching the calls you miss. You don't need new shop software and you keep your number. Your phone always rings first, and urgent callers are flagged with an alert, plus reminders if you don't reply. You get one flat monthly price with no per-call or overage charges, a 30-day free trial, and the AI never quotes prices or promises times. Check each provider's current plans before you decide.
What if I get more calls than my plan covers?
Solo covers up to 50 AI-answered missed calls a month and Shop covers up to 170, at one business location. There's no per-call or per-minute charge and no overage fee, and nothing gets cut off: once you reach your limit, extra calls that month go to a simple voicemail that we text to you. We text you a heads-up as you get close (40 of 50 calls on Solo, 136 of 170 on Shop) and again when you reach your limit. On Solo, that's a good time to move up to Shop: you can switch plans yourself anytime from Manage billing, and it takes effect right away. On Shop, we'll reach out if you're regularly over. Calls from your family/VIP list and screened spam or robocalls don't count toward your limit.
How does the founding offer work?
The first 10 shops, across both plans, get a founding price: Solo for $59/month (or $590/year), or Shop for $99/month (or $990/year), locked in for as long as they stay subscribed. It's applied automatically at signup while spots remain. The founding rate applies after your 30-day free trial. We'd love a short, honest review after you've tried it, but the price never depends on leaving one.
